looks like a young great blue heron
I think juvenile Great Blue Heron as well–especially since Paul called it ‘one big bird.’ The juvenile Little Blue Heron would not fit under that description.
So lucky Paul–I want a vernal pond, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
