"Friday night at the Gloucester synagogue, the charismatic and nationally known Joshua Nelson, an African-American Jew (his family comes from Senegal, he from New Jersey) is going to lead the Sabbath evening service. Joshua Nelson has created an amazing style, playfully called Kosher Gospel. It sets the feet tapping. the hands clapping, and brings the spirit of the soul to everyone who hears it.
The service begins at 7 p.m. at Temple Ahavat Achim, 86 Middle Street. People of all faiths are welcome to come. There is no charge."
Master Harold Review From Amanda Nash
I just wanted to take a moment to say that I went to the Gloucester Stage last night to see "Master Harold…and the boys" last night and it was outstanding, maybe the best thing I’ve seen at Gloucester Stage yet. The acting was exceptional — all three actors were terrific — and it’s a very complex and thought-provoking play. I totally recommend it… although not if you’re looking for something lite!
Sorry I have no photos to accompany this – I could probably get something from Andrew over there if you’d like?
