That some people will do anything for a libation? Dave Arnott and Rich Tomczykowski came over from Manchester on Dave’s boat and decided they wanted to go to Madfish for a drink. The two have been friends since 3rd grade, and Dave even pulled out his tooth so he would match Rich. Unfortunately Rich didn’t bring any shoes. Dave came to the Gallery to ask if there was anywhere they could get a pair of cheap flipflops. There is no place on Rocky Neck that I know of, so I pulled out my Dollar Store pink flower flipflops and told Rich from Bedford that he could borrow them, as long as he let me photograph him sporting them to put up on Good Morning Gloucester. Don’t they look great on him? I think they probably will no longer fit me after he’s finished with them, so he can keep them for his next boating adventure.

About E.J.
Artist, researcher, spiritual traveler of this fascinating orb we inhabit, lover of life and all it has to offer.
Hi everyone out there in GMG land. My name is Ellen “E.J.” Lefavour (a/k/a “Ejay Khan” – the pseudonym I used during my years as a political activist artist). I am a newcomer to Cape Ann, and thrilled to be a new contributor to Good Morning Gloucester. I am a painter and photographer who has lived and worked as an artist for 20 years, since leaving the corporate world in 1990 to pursue my passion. My contributions to GMG will consist of images (either my paintings, photographs, or the occasional video) and a little history about the image, called “Did you Know?” I hope to come up with tidbits of information that people don’t already know, or had forgotten they knew. As I am new here, everything is new and fascinating to me, especially the amazing history, so bear with me if I post something that is common knowledge – I’ll eventually come up with something that’s new to you. Please take a minute to comment on my posts, like them or not, especially if you have corrections or something to add, as that is how I, and all of us, learn. Have a Good Morning Gloucester, and a blessed day.
I have a feeling that this will be the start of a new “Man-Trend”. I’m going to get a pair for my husband. Adorable! p.s. If we made all the world leaders wear pink flip-flops all summer, maybe there would be more peace in the world! :-0
I think you have something there, Terry. It’s pretty hard to think about waging war or knocking the opposing party if you’re all looking at each other’s pink flowered flipflop shod feet. They should have to wear matching toenail polish too.
…pulled out his tooth?
Hi Leslie – long time. Yes, it was a little odd, but he had a removable tooth, and he pulled it out so he and his buddy would both be missing a tooth in the photo. That’s best guy buds – not too many women I know would do that.
Indeed! I’ve known my best friend since first grade (got them beat, lol.) She’s kind to others, funny, and is not judgemental; I feel honored to know her.
