This is an easy one – the ladies in front of the alter are Katie (Linquata) Foote, Mary Interrante, KathleenGiamanco, Rosie Verga, Mary Gentile (my Mom), Pimie Biondo. I’d love a picture of them. Yahoo!
Winner winner chicken dinner!
Am I the winner for real? Are you taking me out for dinner too???
If you’re treating for Ambie’s Sazzitza Sandwiches I am! LOL
What a wonderful photograph. Love it.
Excellent work, kathyg! you will have the 8×10 glossy of your mom. but unless you can name the baton girls, NO SAZZITZA. sorry, rules are rules, right joey?
yep!
Strong smiling women. Imagine what they saw in their lifetime.
These are strong, faithful, dedicated women who have been involved in the Fiesta since they were children. They are now in their late 70′s and still preparing the St. Peter’s Novena altar this year as they have for over 30 years. These women were in their teens when this picture was taken. Four of the women are the grandchildren of Salvatore Favazza – founder of the FIESTA. He ordered the statue of St. Peter from Italy to be made for Gloucester and to use during the novenas (9 days of prayer). God bless then all!!! Viva!
What! no sazzitta for me? I have a feeling those baton girls are not local kids, probably from a band from outside of Gloucester. I was getting ready to preorder my sausage with peppers and onions and mustard from Ambie. Shucks!!!! Thanks for the photo – will pick it up soon. Yippeeeeeee!

Joey,
The girls in the majorette uniforms are cousins Gaye (Aiello) Wall and Gay (Fortado) Tognazzi.
