At 305 feet in length overall, Eos is the largest private sailing yacht in the world. However, much of that length is in the lengthy bowsprit. Maltese Falcon, built by venture capitalist Tom Perkins, is 14 ft. longer on deck and 20 ft. longer on the water.

Launched in Germany in 2006, Eos is called a "three masted, Bermuda rigged schooner." The vessel is currently owned by American media entrepreneur Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg. The figurehead is said to be a likeness of Ms. Fürstenberg. Eos is a Greek goddess, the "Bringer of Dawn," who rises from Oceanus each day to open the gates of heaven with her rosy fingers, so as to allow Apollo to ride his chariot across the sky.

  • LOA: 305 ft., including bowsprit
  • LOD: 271 ft.
  • LWL: 233 ft.
  • Beam: 44.29 ft.
  • Mast Hight: 200 ft.

Hi Joey,

He’s got all the right stuff…including his IAC HQ. in NYC….designed by Frank Gehry.   Next time you & the family are in town take the stroll along the High Line (they just opened another section) and there are great views of it from there, especially when the light is right.

Best, Kevin
