Motif #1 back in the 70′s Photo Number 2 From Len Burgess

Here’s a 35mm shot of the original Motif #1 back in the 70′s.
You can see it was a patched-up rugged old building.
Also, thanks Joey for including the information of the Digital Photo Workshop at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum,
It filled up very quickly.

  1. I wish it still looked like that. But I guess there’s a reason the storm blew it down, patched boards and all. By the way, this image comes just in time for Motif No. 1 Day on May 21st – celebrating both the old Motif and its pristine replacement!

  2. Sharon says:

Nice, Len. I love the reflection and the weathered boards. Motif not in great shape, but it has its charm!

  3. Linda Colman says:

I’m an out of state FOB and wondering how Motif #1 got its name. Can someone fill me in?

  4. Will Bloombergh says:

In the Art world, a Motif is a dominant theme or central idea.

  5. mary Foster says:

I love this picture, such natural wear and tear. And the reflection of the folks in the windows is great.
