What I know of this picture is again the slide is in backwards because when you click on it to view it full size you see the numbers on the white boat are backward. I believe it says

Yes sir – that’s what I was going to say! Obviously they haven’t played reading things in a mirror in their childhood
Judging from the buildings i think it is the Beacon Marine area of east glouc.
My guess is it’s just past Beacon Marine. The area behind where there are wooden fish and bags made of sail cloth. I believe the grey building in the center is gone now. I’m looking at the ledge on the left as a reference point. At first the gas station sign made me think it might be Brown’s yacht yard.
The vessel is the W104, the USCGC General Greene, which was stationed in Gloucester, “back in the day”.

This is the General Greene and its W140. The picture wastakensometime after 1960 when the round portholes on the bridge were changed to square, I served aboard in 60 and 61 when the Greene was wrecked off the Cape Cod Canal
