I designed that boat and had it built in New Bern, N.C. in 1973. She was built for the offshore lobster/crab fishery. She also pair trawled with the Western Sea for herring in the winter before being sold to Stinson Canning Co., Prospect Harbor, Me. in 1978.

My Uncle Clelle and Cousin Joey skippered her when the boat was sold to Stinson I believe. I can’t even begin to imagine how much fish that boat has landed for as long as she has fished.

    Nice history.

I worked on this boat back in 70′s. Started on when boat was used for Texaco plotting locations for offshore oil out past Georges Bank. Then switched to Pair trawling. Got some great pics off the day. Western Sea, Western Ocean were sister boats. Drycock in Pt. Judith. This boat was my home. I used to tell the girls I had a place on the water. LOL. Worked for Ocean Resources in Gloucester. Frozen solid in C.C. Canal. Stay Safe!!
