Just wanted to say that I love all the pictures. Keep up the good work Joey.

    - former beachgoer :)

  2. Kathleen says:

Yes, I’ve seen him out at the Granite Pier sitting on boats. What a beauty.

  3. Halibut2 says:

He is showing up frequently at Granite Pier. He likes to sit on boats there.

  4. I saw him last week on the docks during the farmer’s market. I couldn’t find it in my New England field guide, so thanks for the ID! I’ve been curious all week.

  5. I’ve seen him (or a close relative) hunting under the former Gull Restaurant at the Cape Ann Marina.

  6. Ah, now I see it in my field guide. Say’s they nest in colonies, so there may be a couple around. The young ones are brown with white streaks and spots. Handsome bird. Obviously an eye-catcher.

  7. A black crowned night heron can always be found at the granite pier in ROCKPORT
