  • Joey , unless you have been their and gone through it , you can not even begin to imagine the things that go through your mind when stranded out at sea in a storm. I was a deckhand on the f/v/ Drake out of fairhaven Mass. in 1988 when we started taking on water real bad from a seacock 100 miles offshore of Marthas Vinyard.it was october and blowing about 40 knots with 8/10 foot seas, we took a wave broadside and had a electrical short and a fire broke out , we all got in our survival suits and were getting ready to go overboard and here come the Coast Guard. the f/v Drake went down about 2 1/2 hours after we were taken off the ship. to this day i still get the shivers when my moter stutters or makes funny noise while out to sea. the Coast Guard can be a fricking pain in the ass with the bullshit boardings they do at times, ( but ) they will always be my hero’s !!! they saved my dumb ass that day !!!

  • Wow. I got seasick just watching that.

It’s really impressive that there are people willing to go out in that kind of weather. God knows I wouldn’t have the courage.
