Rhumb Line Thursday Night Blues Party
Well, summertime’s here and you need sumphthin’ to keep you kool… so here it is: Mr. Willie Alexander heads over to the Rhumb Line this Thursday for a rip-snorting, heart attack inducing maelstrom of good ol’ rock n’ roll. Backing up over him will also be his longtime glitarist from his Boom-Boom band, Mr. Billyclub Loosigian, and much revered drumnambulist Mr. Stevie Chaggaris. As usual, Greg T. and I will try to rein everyone in just enough to not blow a fuse. Good luck to us! It’ll be a great nite, so don’t miss it!

Ed the house doctor is a guy that doesn’t seek recognition but does a ridiculous amount of work to make Gloucester a better place. I ran into Ed up at the visitors center a couple of weeks ago when we had that really warm day. It was late in the afternoon and he was working away pulling weeds and sprucing up the Stage Fort Park area. God bless good guys like Ed. Video with Ed at 8PM
From Donna Ardizzone-

I guess this was a tough one. So if you’re interested in where it is, take a ride out to the lighthouse on Eastern Point. It will be on the way. Look closely at the buildings and you’ll find it. Let me know if you spot it!
Sammy Scola and Anthony Saputo place the seine boats so they will be ready for the crews to practice in the morning. It’s THAT TIME OF YEAR!
After the fireworks on Sunday night, when everything is winding down, around 11:30, the statue of St. Peter is carried through the Fort. The group stops along the way at the homes of those who have lived in the Fort for years. Confetti is thrown and the crowd shouts “Viva San Pietro!”. As the festivities close, St. Peter is placed back in the window at the Club until June of the next year.
Yesterday Pablo showed up with this horseshoe crab. I’m not exactly sure if they are endangered or not so I took a couple pictures, a short video and tossed it in the ocean.
Then I came in the office and found this fascinating site dedicated to the creature- http://horseshoecrab.org/
I caught up with Anthony Saputo, the Inter-Continental Greasy Pole Champ. Anthony won in Sicily and Gloucester which makes him a greasy pole legend in his own right but in the upcoming video we speak about other greasy pole champions, who he considers the best seine boat crews of all time and gives some props to the unsung heros of the Fiesta.
