Gloucester’s First WWKIP Event – Saturday, Stage Fort Park
Mark Your Calenders: World Wide Knit in Public Day is Coming up Fast
Hosted by: Coveted Yarn
Location: Stage Fort Park
Date: June 13, 2009
How to get there:
We have reserved the Gazebo for WWKIPD from 10-3. Stage Fort Park is a really cool, kid friendly place and we encourage people to knit everywhere there. Take Rt 128N to Gloucester, At Rotary take 1st exit onto Washington St. Follow Washington St until you see a Joan of Arc Statue, merge right onto Middle St. Then turn right onto Western Ave. After the Bridge take the first left and you are in Stage Fort Park.
Stage Fort Park has: Playground for the kids, Public Bathrooms, A local eatery next to the park, Lots of history, Ocean breezes so dress appropriately, Hopefully lots of sun so see above. I would bring anything you would need for a day of picnicking at a park, plus maybe swimming suits etc. as there are great beaches here too. Yarn and supplies will not be sold at the park.
The backup plan is:
We are from Gloucester, we don’t worry about the weather since it is just going to change anyway. When the sun comes out you can always lay yourself flat to dry!
This KIP is not knitting exclusive, bring some crochet if you like
There are free bathrooms available
UPDATE: We are working on some live music, some ergonomic knitting instruction and more. We are going to make this as much fun as possible!
